HBT YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

Supporting young people to develop life skills, promoting inclusion and building community resilience.

What is HBT Youth Empowerment Program (YEP)

YEP provides mentorship, group activities and new opportunities for young people.

YEP is funded by the Commonwealth Government Attorney-General's Department.

The HBT Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) supports young people aged 14-17 years to develop life skills, promoting inclusion and building community resilience.

The program includes work readiness activities such as work experience, connecting to volunteer opportunities, employer visits and mentoring. Youth Engagement Workers also provide case management and organise activities such as skills development workshops, excursions and social activities.

Young people who have undertaken HBT can continue to receive support from YEP, supporting successful re-engagement with education and employment over the long term.

YEP is funded by the Commonwealth Government Attorney General's Department. It enables Concern Australia to work proactively with schools and other partners on an early intervention approach, preventing young people engaging in anti-social behaviour and connecting with the youth justice system.
