Streetlighters Soccer Outreach Launches

 

Streetlighters is an outreach that creates a ‘safe space’ on Friday nights for youth in the Dandenong area, particularly those from Sudanese and Polynesian backgrounds.

In partnership with the Scanlon Foundation and Clayton Church of Christ, Street Lighters will expand over 3 years to provide 3 additional programs including: a soccer program, supervised driving experience and peer leadership training.

The Streetlighters soccer group has already started competing in the Victorian Churches Soccer Association competition and both volunteers and the young people are having a great time doing what they love.
