Welcome to Values 4 Life!
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Values 4 Life School Seminars is … “A contemporary and tailored program facilitated by well trained and highly motivated teams, aimed at assisting all students to develop a sustainable world-view, wise choice processes and solid community building values.”
Concern Australia and Values 4 Life School Seminars are pioneers in the arena of specialised Affective Domain Education and we have been facilitating such values education since 1968.
The release of the NATIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR VALUES EDUCATION IN AUSTRALIAN SCHOOLS served to further highlight not only the unquestionable importance of such education, but also our distinguished and lengthy commitment to excellence in this vital field.
Our program - including student seminars, staff professional development seminars and parent information nights - has consistently delivered quality programs, with best contemporary practice, and has sought to maximise the sustainability of learning facilitation through not only research, but also relevancy and technology.
Our product is innovative and is set up to engage all seven areas outlined in the ‘National Goals’ (DEST 2005, 2), which state that when students leave school they should hve the capacity to exercise judgment and responsibility in matters of
- morality
- ethics
- social justice
- sense of the world
- how things got to be the way they are
- rational and informed decision making process
- accepting responsibility for their actions.
We are equipped to not simply address outcomes and operations, but the reasonable origins of such - the predicative elements, motivators and suppositions under-girding said outcomes and operations - for these vital elements of healthy societal function and cohesion.
The Australian Council for Education Research recently evaluated the Values 4 Life (V4L) Seminar Program, and made the following comments regarding the program:
"I firmly believe, from this evaluation experience, that money spent on engaging the V4L Team would be a judicious and powerful expenditure of school funds. Put quite simply, every young person needs them - the more who get the contact, the better for the country. And the less it will have to spend later, I believe, coping with the homeless and disaffected, on juvenile cases, and cleaning up after suicides. Yes, I think they are that good."
Please feel free to look around our site, check out V4L topics and download our resources.
